Where can I download standard Wave files for Windows XP for sound when
Start Windows, Exit Windows, new mail, etc.

Check out this  link (http://www.ilovewavs.com/Events/WindowsSounds/WindowsXP/WindowsXPDefaultSounds.htm) Though it got the default wav files that apparently you can get straight off your windows CD, you can get other sounds if you'd like to have different sounds played instead of the default...
