Title: need help formatting windows xp

i'm having trouble formatting a partition hard disk with windows xp. can anyone help me or tell me how to do it properly??  ;) ;)

Exactly what is it your trying to do ?     Do a format and a clean install ?

USE WIN XP CD-ROM TO BOOT
AT THE WELCOME SCREEN PRESS R
YOUR SYSTEM WILL GET INTO EMERGENCY REPAIR MODE

G:\WINDOWS>FORMAT G: /Q
Y
G:\WINDOWS>EXIT

Those are the most dubious intructions I have ever seen..
