Title: sata motherboards, are they also udma compatible?
Post by: Neal Laxman on June 29, 2005, 07:54:39 AM
Having recently bought a new 300gig sata seagate barracuda hard drive, then discovering my motherboard does not have sata connectors. I am wondering whether if i buy a new sata compatible motherboard, will i also be able to plug in my old udma drive?

Thank you in advance

If the new mainboard has an IDE connector, you will most certainly be able to connect IDE devices.
