I need to download Net 3.5 framework in order to use a software program I purchased. I tried four times and I got an error that the download couldn't be completed.
I have Windows XP Home Edition. Any ideas?
-
What browser?
Did you try another browser?
-
Hi Broni. No I didn't. Everytime I download Firefox it slows down everything on my computer and I know that is the one you recommend. Should I try a different one?
-
No browser should be slowing your system. You may have some other issues.
Try Opera then.
-
Okay. Be back soon.
-
Broni I decided to download Firefox again and tried the download and got the same message "download didn't set up properly".
-
From Here ? ? (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html)
-
Hi patio. Yes that's where I downloaded it from.
-
Is that the exact error message when installling ? ?
-
I knew I should have written it down. I'm not sure if that's the exact error message. I'll try it again and post the exact error message.
-
Patio the exact error message is:
Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 SP1 has encountered a problem during setup. Set up did not complete correctly.
-
Are you downloading the installer or the full package?
Here's the full version:

You're downloading it first, before you try to install?
-
Yes but you guys are confusing me...lol! I have to install Net3.5 framework before I can download the software I purchased. I must be missing something. ???
-
Do you download Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 SP1 to your computer, first, before you try to install it?
-
Oh my word! My original question was I can't download Net 3.5 framework. It's something I need to download another application. I'm so confused now.
-
yes

Pepper, I think you might be confusing the terms "download" and "install".
"Download" is to bring it from the internet onto you computer.
"Install" is to run the setup program to add the program for your computer.
The message you indicated (Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 SP1 has encountered a problem during setup. Set up did not complete correctly.) would indicate you are attempting to install the program, not download it. When you download it from the internet, are you clicking "open" or "save as"? If you're clicking "open", don't. Try clicking "save as" first, save the installer, then open it after the download completes.
