Post by: peraraj on January 22, 2010, 06:16:21 AM
Need Help!

Can't remove this pop up which appears on startup "C:\Documents and settings\user\vkvo.exe"

Have tried malware etc. My computer details: Pentium 4, 2.66Ghz, 1 GB Ram, Winwos XP, Version 2002, Service Pack 2, Avira Free Anitvirus Personal.

Otherwise, computer working fine.

I don't know what "malware etc" means. You should do the following:

1) Run a full scan with your anti virus utility
2) Run a full scan with MalwareBytes
3) If you still get the popup download and run Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel. If there is an entry for vkvo.exe, uncheck it and reboot.

Check your start up tab in start -> all programs -> start up if anything is there remove it.
then goto run and type msconfig there go to last tab and click on disable all restart your computer I think this will solve your problem.

Alan,

Have tried removing the error message with MalwareBytes and  Startup Control Panel. No change. In fact, the file does not appear in Mike Lin's Startup mControl Panel.

I still think it's malware - I'd suggest following patio's advice above.
