Title: can't backup program from xp to vista

I have a 2003 Goldmine program on an old dell laptop with xp operating system.  I would like to transfer the file via a stick into my new laptop with a vista operating system.  I backed it up to a stick but the info wont transfer into the  loaded goldmine program with the vista system.  Can anyone please tell me if this will work and how i can make this happen.

Programs cannot be simply copied from 1 machine to another and be expected to run...
They need to be installed.

This is by design...

  Therefore, you will have to get your sales files that your have already made and then buy a new program.
