Title: Will not read dvr or dvd discs

My f*****g old computer won't read dvr or dvd discs. I have updated the driver, and it reads music CD's. But when I put in a dvr or dvd, it does nothing. I go to the disc drive manually and it sais "insert disc". If I re-insert it after that it attempts to read it but locks up and I have to run task manager to close the whole program! >:(

Bad drive...one of the lasers has burned out.

Has it ever read a DVD ? Is it a DVD drive or a CD drive?

cleaning your drive may help you...

I might suggest that ComputerspissmeoffXD download, install, and post the results found by, Everest Home FREE.
After the program has scanned your PC, click on 'storage" then "optical drives".
