I can't log on to my computer. I read somewhere that I can get back in if I use the WindowsXP disc but my dvd drive hasn't worked for awhile. I have an external dvd drive also but since I can't log on and load the software, it doesn't read it either. Is there anything else I can do?
-
Have you tried logging on in Safe Mode?
-
Yea I've tried it in safe mode and it does the same thing.

What kind of computer is it.
Do you think it will boot with a flash drive? http://evilfantasy.wordpress.com/bitdefender-rescue-usb/

It's a Dell Inspiron E1505.
So I used the USB Bitdefender. It detected and deleted 9 items. The website says to exit and turn off the computer then start it up normally. I did this and it still logs me off immediately. Am I doing it right? Is there a way to log on from the bitdefender screen?
Thanks

You might need to use a repair CD on the flash drive. Use UnetBootin to load OTLPE.iso and post the log.

I used UnetBootin to load OTLPE.iso onto a flash drive. When I try to use it boot though it says
Loading /ubnkern
Invalid or corrupt kernel image
boot:
Did I miss a step maybe?

No it may not work with Unetbootin.
I'm kind of stumped. Without the CD drive you may have a hard time getting this fixed.
Here are a few links for a bootable XP USB.

You might be able to get it to boot to Windows then attempt to do a repair. Start > Run then type sfc /scannow and click OK.
