I have a Dell Insperon 530 that is about 2 and a half years old. Windows Vista Home Premium is the operating software. On startup it has always required a password to get to the desktop.
After being gone for about three weeks, when I turned the computer on I got the following message: "The User Profile Service service Failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded".
I am entering the correct password, because if I enter an incorrect one it gives me hints on the correct one. I don't have a password recovery disk. Can anyone help?
Thanks

I've never had to deal with this issue. But, this looks like it should help:
Vista - The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. (http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/130095-user-profile-service-failed-logon-user-profile-cannot-loaded.html)

Soybean, thanks for the reply. In a couple weeks, when I get home I will try some of these procedures if I can boot into safe mode.
Any other hints. Thanks again.
