Title: wireless printer

Hi, I have a dl-5124up router and I was trying to set up wireless printing.

When I followed the instructions and set the port to LPR instead of RAW, it doesn't work. But when I set it to RAW with port 9100 the wireless printing works.

So my question is why? And what is the difference between RAW and LPR? I've tried looking online but i have no idea what they were talking about.

RAW is just that. The other is a filter and there are rules about what it can and can not do. Unless you are an administrator in a large network, there is little reason, if any, to worry about it.  Leave it on RAW until you find a reason to prefer the extra features of the LPR.

LPR is available in XP and 2003, but before you try that you may want to read over a general summary of what it is.
