Title: Setting up a network.

I installed a Netgear Wireless-G router this past weekend and not exactly sure if I networked my computers together correctly.

The way I have it set up is broadband to router and router to primary desktop computer via hardwire. From there  I use a wireless adapter for a secondary desktop and plan on doing a laptop when I get this cleared up.

File sharing is where I am having my issue. If I want to look at a file on my primary (hardwired) computer I am able to go to -My Network Places- on my secondary computer and click on the file, but if I want to look at a file on my secondary (wireless) from my primary computer I can't. What am I missing. I should be able to file share both computers correct?

Both computers should be connecting to the router.

from the sounds of it you're using a wireless adapter to connect ad-hoc to the laptop, so the laptop is actually using the computer for a access point, which in turn uses the router for internet access.

You might also check and disable your laptop firewall .. And change your laptop file to share file .. Hope it help..

I had a similar trouble like you're having now and a friend of mine recommended this website to me.
I never expected that it was fixed immediately and easily.
I recommend that you do the same.

That friend that "Recommended" you to that site was probably your boss telling you to go out and get customers.

But you can set-up your brother's dial up account on your computer.
