Title: Unable to remove old AGP driver
Post by: Doug Grimes on June 17, 2004, 02:07:43 AM
I'm setting up three monitors and I'm unable to remove the old AGP driver. I go to system devices and click on AMD-751 AGP Host to PCI Bridge and then click remove. It seems to be removed so I close down the computer and install the  duelhead AGP Video card in and reboot the computer but the the driver reinstalls itself.I have had no problems with the PCI Video card and can see a driver in system devices being AMD-751 AGP Host to PCI Bridge. This must have been a delault driver because it installed itself when it detected new hardware.I've done the hole setup about five times but the same thing happens. I have tried only putting in the APG Duelhead Video Card but no luck.Does any one know how to remove this Driver? Thank's

Regards Doug

Is this an onboard videocard that you are speaking about?

If so, go to either your BIOS or System management (Right click on My Computer -> Management) and DISABLE it.

Or you can look for a program called 'Driver Cleaner'

It can remove drivers you no longer use.

Not an onboard video card.

I've downloaded that software but a bit worried about

going to safe mode, I'll see what happens. Using 98 SE

Thanks Doug
