what is exactly is needed to connect,how do you configure the connection and how do i obtain the wi-fi networks to share from

First, you need to install wireless drivers.

If you have already, you should be able to double click the network icon on your system tray to see the wireless networks to connect to. To configure the connection you need to go to control panel network connections and then right click on the wireless connection and select properties.
