Title: Are "System Restore" and "Automatic System Recovery" the same thing?
Post by: mountainbeauty on December 29, 2010, 02:26:21 PM
Can someone explain the difference between the two?
How are they used, and when?

Thank you!

My friend is getting messages that say her files are corrupted. So, she "googled" the phrase: "Corrupted on a computer". She was sent to Microsoft.com, and she read the information. It told her to do an "Automatic System Recovery" I don't know how to do that, she just learned how to get to "System Restore".
SO.....

We don't know how to solve the "Corrupt" files that she apparently has in her "JUNO" ISP programs.
She keeps reinstalling their CD, but keeps getting the message about corrupted files.
Does that help???

I am waiting to hear from her, and will let you know. I wish I could convince her to just
come to your website, and be a part of the conversation. Thank you for your patience.

I'll be honest with you. Speaking just for myself, my patience won't last long if your friend doesn't think it's worth her time to do this herself. Troubleshooting is tough enough when dealing with the sysop, twice as hard when dealing with an intermediary.

Sorry. I got another email from her, and she says:
" This morning i clicked on "Start" to get to the Juno Platinum.   Clicked on Juno Platinum and this msg came up  (i wrote down this time),,,,,,,, "A copy of your Juno software has been corrupted.""

So, I just told her to contact  Juno, her internet provider, and get them to solve it! I appreciate your time, and I appreciate your candor. I really do appreciate your experience and your willingness to help others solve problems with computing. From now on, the questions you get from me will be for my edification, and not my friend's. Thank you!
