The speed in the other computers is the same!
It is important to note that other computers have no problems at all and we are connected to the same router... ???

What should I do?!

You forgot to mention if you are connected via wired or wireless, Laptop  or Desktop. How many computers are running and connected at the same time? What Protection Softwares(Firewall, Antivirus) installed? Have you tried connecting to IE8 again with your computer only running on the router to confirm the problem?
you may need also to clean up temp files or junk and run SAS, MBAM, Ccleaner to check for any threats and infections residing on your machine.

I tried a different browser and the situation is even worse; it does not upload even the Home Page..

Im connected via wired Desktop, there are 3 desktops and 1 Laptop who connected at the same time.
I got NOD Antivirus 4.2

3 days ago I tried to connect the Laptop with my cable and there were no problems..

I clean up the system with Ccleaner and Registry Machanic like a million times already.. :(

Registry cleaners are a no no.

Did this happen just suddenly or just after running the registry cleaners? Desktop has secured connections on wired and so as you connected the Laptop. Have you run the troubleshooter for your wireless card under Network connection?
You could also refer to this link--> http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-7/windows-7-cannot-connect-to-internet/ (http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-7/windows-7-cannot-connect-to-internet/)

Edit : Have you tried moving the Laptop to other place for any probable interference?

Yeah, I agree. The fact that it works fine with a direct connection would lead one to believe the problem is with the wireless signal to the laptop.

Post by: yizhazi on January 10, 2011, 07:22:53 AM
Maybe I did not explain myself properly .. I got problems with my desktop PC (NOT LAPTOP)...
I wanted to check if the problems is with the computer or with the internet connection. So I plag my internet wire into another computer (laptop in this case) to see if there are problems..
There were no problems so it turns out that the problem with the computer itself.

Hello,

You can try another browser first, as Firefox.

Then you can check if your firewall works.

good luck

1) Do a system restore to a day when all was well
2) Run all your anti-virus programs.
3) Run ccleaner
4) Run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
5) Buy more RAM
Title: Re: internet problems!! ahah im desperate :(

Ignore the above post, DO NOT do a system restore until all other avenues have been explored!

5) Buy more RAM
What has that got to do with internet connection???

What has that got to do with internet connection?

System Restore is a quick fix and does not hurt anything and can be reversed.

90 % of the time a slow computer is caused by low RAM.  Low RAM can be caused by a VIRUS or too many programs at startup

As a last resort install more RAM.

Ok I thought this was the problem. What type of Network card is installed? Does your status icon shows that you are connected?
1. Run the Network troubleshooter for your Network card for your Desktop.
2. In your Control Panel, Network Connections, Right-click Network Card/Properties/General Tab and highlight TCP/IP click Properties. Are Obtain IP address and DNS server dotted? Check Also Alternate configuration tab if
Automatic Private Address is default.
3. Also for your IE8 Browser. Go to Tools/Internet options/Connections/LAN settings, is automatically detect settings in default?
4. On your Device Manager, check the status of your Network card if it states that it is working properly.
5. You could also try opening browser(IE8) without add-ons. Right-click IE8 icon on desktop and choose Start without add-ons.

While I agree system restore may not "hurt anything", it certainly is not necessarily a "quick fix". And your comment that a slow computer is caused by low ram 90% of the time is simply nonsense.

Just noticed that was BillRich and he's been locked out.

Agreed, especially since the OP stated he has 4gb of RAM in the first post, which i thought to be plenty.

You still have not stated that you have run an anti-virus or anti-spyware scan yet, CCleaner and the .....erm....'registry mechanic' will not find viruses

Should I make a windows repair and restore the system? A friend recommended me to do so and that the simplest solution ..
Is this repair could delete files from my computer's system? It's absolutely safe?

The 4gb Ram listed and the amout of RAM available is not the same. Most of the RAM might be used by a VIrus or othe regular programs.

You have been asked twice if you have done a virus scan and you have not answered. We have also said, do not System restore until a last resort. If you choose not to follow this advice then its up to you, but before you do a System Restore please read this. Particularly The Reality paragraph.

http://www.brighthub.com/computing/smb-security/articles/44731.aspx (http://www.brighthub.com/computing/smb-security/articles/44731.aspx)

Quote
In reality, System Restore can create copies of the infected files. And some viruses may be capable of infecting the restore volume as well as the actual system files. When a person cleans their computer using an anti-virus, then uses System Restore, they may inadvertently re-infect the computer. Or if they use System Restore as a means of removal, either the restore will fail (if the anti-virus cleans the virus out during the restore process) or the restore will replace the file with an infected version.

There is nothing wrong based on your 1st post about the system, only the slow internet connection. Unless you are infected, making a repair will most likely not solve the problem.

No further feedback from Yizhazi, the original poster?  Reddevilggg seems to suggest a software problem? Jason hardware? Is it software or hardware? A slow connection or a slow computer?  I still would  guess system restore might help?  System Restore cannot hurt?

OP does nothing.

Your neglecting the fact that if he is in fact infected and he runs a system restore he then infects his restore points which moves him further away from a resolution...

You may have ESET NOD 32 and Smart Security(Firewall) installed that cause temporary or slow connection. Try disabling ESET Smart Security and use the Windows Firewall instead.

I also had this problem and the i phoned up my broadband team e.g whoever you are connected to. You can just call them up and see what's wrong. Also, the main problem is the more electrical devices you are near the slower the connection x

Restart computer in Safe Mode with Networking, go back to http://www.speedtest.net/ and let us know, what the numbers are.
If you have same issue, you may need new ethernet card.

Dont know what this has to do with anything?

Ok some people here I believe to be on the right track, others not so much. A poster scolded the OP for not taking the groups advice and that he has already been told don't restore........You are ignoring the fact that at that point, the OP had been told TO System Restore just as many times as he/she had been told not to. Understanding the advice given by a forum can be difficult when the forum is of two minds about the issue.
And as far as the Caps lock incident, the OP had been ignorantly scolded and the CAPS LOCK post was obviously a response to that post. However, while it can be frustrationg, the OP is here for the forum posters' collective help, so use honey not vinegar.

MY OPINION........
I believe damage was done with the Registry "FIX"..........it are something that if done, should be done with extreme caution. It may be firewall issue, try using just the windows firewall, as previously stated. As for the fact that you have been told time and time again to run a virus scan, you already told us you did. I am not very experienced with registry issues, hopefully someone here can give you a better strategy, but in MY experience, the only fix for a registry error is a fresh OS install, and the System Restore is a much better option than that. I think if you have done all the virus, spyware, malware scans you can, try whatever ideas this forum has to offer, but should it not work, copy important data to an external HDD or cd's and system restore......it's risky but not being able to use the internet sucks balls.

Are you trying to save an image of your hard drive onto your hard drive? Do you have more then one drive or more then 1 partition? I may be wrong here and if so I am sure some one will let me know but I don't believe you are able to make an image of a drive/partition and save it to the drive/partition that you are making the image of.

Those speeds are still pretty low.
What type of internet connection do you have and what is your ISP advertised speed?

Now, since things work fine in Safe Mode with Networking, but not in normal mode, it should be fairly easy to investigate what the problem is.

As a next step, let's try this....

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista), type in:
msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

Click on Startup tab.
Click Disable all
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
Click Disable all.

Click OK.
Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

How are things now?

I don't see anything suspicious there...

I got wired connection and my ISP is around 1.50..
What is it, cable, DSL, satellite?
Is your ISP advertised speed 1.5 Mbps?

No, you have to uninstall it, if we want to troubleshoot it.

Your internet connection works perfectly fine, so you'll have to explain what do you mean by "it's not working".
Web pages don't open, or....?

The problems:
* My Internet is slow in general and sometimes it takes a while until he upload the page.
* I can't download from the internet!! When im click on the "download" button he did not respond at all and the page became stuck and slower..
* When I enter a YouTube video clip, it does not load at all and I see only the spinning icon. About ten minutes later the video suddenly loaded at once..

I remind you that when I was on safe mode I had no problems at all and everything was normal.

I dont know what you want. If you have a problem, start a topic. You problem may differ from the topic starter. This thread has, obvisously, got to the stage where it was discovered that yizhazi has a virus. He then needs to 'start a new topic' in the virus section so that the specialists there can treat his problem.
