Title: XBOX 360 won't detect Airport Extreme
Post by: TomCat255 on January 12, 2011, 03:35:36 PM
I have a Westell DSL modem connected to my Airport Extreme. I have 3 computers connected to the internet wirelessly via the AirPort. However, upon hardwiring my XBOX 360 to the AirPort's single ethernet port, the 360 does not recognize that there is anything plugged into the AirPort. I've checked that it's not a bad ethernet cable, everything is hooked up right, i forwarded all of the right ports to my 360s static IP, which is outside of the airport's DHCP range. Still, when trying to access my "Test Network" page on my XBOX, it won't give you an option to choose "Wired Connection". It says "To use a wired Internet connection, make sure an Ethernet cable is connected to both your console and your router or modem."

You said the static IP is outside of the DHCP range?

Give the xbox a static IP that IS with-in the routers DHCP range.
