I hope this question is in the right place.
I'm trying to put a display system together but I'm having trouble getting good information.
What I'm thinking about is an LCD monitor or Tv (probably about 32") and a flash drive.
The flash drive will have a PowerPoint Presentation (PPP) on it and I want to play that on the monitor. I want to
use a Flash Drive as the presentation will be updated/changed periodically.
I haven't been able to find a Tv which has this capability so I'm guessing I will need some sort of interface
box.
I've seen a bunch of interface boxes which seem to do what I want but I don't know for sure that they will
play PPP's. I saw a box by Cirago which I thought might be suitable so I emailed them to ask their advice
but all they said was that none of their products support PPP's.
What formats will the interface box need to handle in order for it to play PPP's?
Or, does anyone know of a box that will do what I need?

Tell us more about your objective.
Here ate the local col ledge they use a PC and a projector for presentations. Kind of pricey, and never works very good.
Are you looking for lower cost? Portability?

The system is going to a menu in a cafeteria. The screen will run for approx 6 hours per day.
Basically, the screen gets mounted on the wall and I use a PowerPoint Presentation to scroll through
a variety of pictures of the food available.
I'm going to be putting together 5 of these systems so I want to keep the cost down.
What TV do you have? Would it play a PPP?

If there is no user interaction, you don't need a computer, just a media player. A media player can show either a digital video or a set of photos. The cost of Flash memory is very low. A flash drive that can hold three hours of HD video is just a few dollars now. The player is the more expensive part.Simple Media players are under $90 and play on any TV with component inputs.

An alternative is to just get a cheap DVD player and burn the PPP onto a DVD as a DVD movie.
My TV is a Sanyo from Wall Mart. It only plays JPG, not digital video.

I want to steer away from using a DVD as they have moving parts so are more prone to breakages.
I've also been using the term "PowerPoint" and I think I should have said, "slide show" It is not imperative
that the presentation be in PowerPoint.
I think a Tv with a USB slot is going to be the best idea. I have made a quick mwv file and put it on a flash drive.
I'm going to take it down to Walmart and plug it in and see what happens. If it will play it as I want then I will probably go
that way.
One last thing....would it be better to get a Tv or a monitor? Is there a significant difference?

I would go for a TV. Mass produced, lower cost, warranty, good resale value. Some rival even the best monitors.

I could reverse that and use it as a reason to purchase a monitor instead of a TV.

Just strap it to the back of the tv or monitor and fire away. That way, you could manage the slideshow, movie, ppt, or whatever else from another computer or laptop over a network.

When you say you are going to use five screens are they close enough that you could run cables to each and drive all of them off a single computer? That would simplify updating them.

You could get one of these cards and put it in a cheap system and run hdmi or display port cables to each monitor (max length is about 50' without a booster). Then just keep the system in a closet or somewhere safe.
