Title: fusion.dll error

When i run the install for East India Company Collection, the game itself installs normally, but when the installer runs the directx portion, i get an error saying the .net framework v2.0.50727 fusion.dll is either not designed to run on widows or it contains an error.
The DXerror.log then shows:

[02/16/11 17:05:27] module: dxupdate(Sep  4 2009), file: dxupdate.cpp, line: 6111, function: CFusion::CFusion

    Failed API:      LoadLibraryShim()
    Error:      (0x80070006) - The handle is invalid.

So after this i try to repair the .net framework v2, but it gives the error: This product is already installed as part of the operating system.

Is there any way for me to fix the .net framework?

My system is:
Vista ultimate 64bit
8gig RAM
Intel quadcore 2.6ghz
Radeon HD 5770
