PC with win98 (first edition) gives some trouble. Is it possible to upgrade from win98 (1st) to win98SE?
Is this possible with CD win98SE upgrade and/or windows98SE full installation without loosing the programs
and data already installed on PC with win98 (1st).
Migration path is traditional win95-->win98;
is upgrade win98 ---> win98SE possible
with
1. upgrade CD win98SE
2. full installation CD win98SE (can this CD be used for the upgrade?)
It is just a check to make no mistakes.

Here is the method i used years ago...
In Explorer travel to the root directory...
Rename win.com to win.old...after making a copy of it and moving it to another directory...
Boot to the Win98SE CD and run setup.
Upon completion all your data and apps should be intact.
As always you should backup all important data 1st...

It must be the renaming of win.com to win.xxx to make the installation CD of win98SE work for upgrading.
It is a very long time ago I have done this..... ;)
