Title: Mac G3 Dead
Post by: mikesellers on March 01, 2011, 10:48:03 AM
I tried to add a hard drive by using a power plug that was hanging down from the power supply and when I tried to boot up it acted like it was
stuck in the boot-up sequence. I think I had the jumper set wrong. So I hit the
shut down button on the keyboard then removed the hard drive. Now, it won`t turn
on-it is dead. I don`t know much about Macs so I was wondering if there is a
start up proceedure for this condition? What are the two small buttons for that
are under the main start button? Any ideas? How could I have killed the computer
just by trying to install a hard drive?

Its quite possible the computer isnt dead due to you trying to install a hard drive, i would say the cpu is old and needs to be replaced, you might as well replace the entire laptop. i know Apple products are expensive these days, however check your local craigslist or try ebay, you may be able to find a decent computer that way, just watch out for scammers.
