Title: Last Modified date problem...Please help!

I have a word document file and I think that the last modified date has been tampered with. Is there any way I might be able to check the 'real' date it was modified? I know there are ways people can change the time stamps to earlier dates, but is there any method that can reverse this? Also, the document is not on the computer, its on a usb stick.
Please help!! I'd be very grateful.
