Title: I have deleted my audio driver I think!!!
Post by: Woodze105 on April 05, 2011, 04:38:49 PM
 :'( Please help!!

I was clearing my computer of things yesertday and i have accidentally deleted my sound files, My computer will not play any sound at all and when accessing the volume control I have this error message:

There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices,  go to control panel,  click printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware.

When I go into the hardware it says I have no Audio Device.

Also when I access Windows media to play MP3 files, no files will play i have error message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

I am running on Windows XP Media centre edition version 2002 on a Toshiba Equium A100 - 147.

Please can you help.

Thanks
Kayleigh :D

Do a system restore to a time before you deleted it.

Click start then run and type devmgmt.msc in the search box and press enter. This will open device manager. Do you see any yellow question marks or exclamation points or red Xs there? If so, what are they next to?

Get this:
http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/sound-20080606114343.zip

Save it somewhere you can find it, then once it's downloaded run it.

That is a zip file so you will have to double click it to extract the exe

If you ever need any more drivers for your laptop they are all here:
