I've been battling the VirtuMonde virus and possibly others for a while now and I think I'm winning, to put it optimistically. The adds and
random downloads have ceased, but I'm losing memory in gigabytes fast, and only have less then 14 left in my C drive. I don't know if it's me
or the viruses getting bigger. Anyway I've located the VirtuMonde virus in my registry under a key called "ACMru." I have two of these in two
locations. If I were to delete both ACMru keys from my registry, would that:
A) Eliminate the virus and all it's components
B) Mess something up and cause the system to lose stability
Or am I better off just letting a third party program fix it for me. I haven't backed up my registry yet either, and all my restore points are
infected. Any suggestions/advice? Thank you for reading.
