I have a 1024Bit Trident TVGA9000 which, apparantly, can only show B/W.
The only time it has shown colour is during the loading screen of both Windows 98SE and ME.
Why is this? it does not even show a coloured BIOS or post.
I am not looking to trouble shoot the videocard, but I am rather curious as to why it is showing such behaviour.
The monitor I am using is a 14" Compaq which has excellent colours.

Well friend...try the following thing.
right click on the empty area of desktop and select properties. OR in other words goto "Display Properties". Here select the "Settings" tab. Now under the "Color Quality"..you can see that "Monochrome" is selected from the drop down list. Press the drop down arrao and select "High Color 24-bit" and press apply. Thats alll...
I do hope that this will help you. Tell if this solve the problem.
Do take care of you and others and be happy.
Bye...

Hey, Wahab.
As I said, I am not looking to troubleshoot. Merely wondering why everything was black and white (Or grey) apart from the loading screens.
-
I believe the loading screens run on VGA 640 x 480 with 16 colours before the windows drivers are loaded.
-
And why is Windows black and white again?
-
Bad drivers? Bad video card? bios set to vga only?
