Title: my computer is very sluggish/slow after reformat
Post by: iamcasper on June 11, 2011, 06:12:07 AM
hey so my computer did a random reboot all of a sudden when i was trying to open Rift

but it didnt open the computer like it used to it went to a windows 7 automatet repair screen, and then it said that the automatet

repair failed, and i got a list with options on how to continue from there, i tried the repair a couple of times but it failed.

Then i tried system restore, and it said it was succesful and it rebooted again but it came right back to

the same screen, so i just gave up and reinstalled windows 7 and lost all my data.

I dont really mind that, but now my computer runs really slow and sluggish it takes 40 seconds or longer to reboot it from when i press

the restart button till it is shutting down, and it takes nearly  2 mins to start up again,

the error codes i got was 0x0, 0x4 and 0x490 and that ci.dll was corrupt, ofcause this means nothing to me.

ive been playing computer games for years but im a real beginner when it comes to actuel repairs and things like that,

and im getting very frustatrated so i hope you can help me. I will list my hardware specs dont know if it will help.

After reinstalling the OS did you install all drivers, starting with the chipset driver?

This should be the chipset driver: http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449&dl=1#driver

Then go to the ATI site for your video driver.

Then look in device manager and let us know if there are any other errors
