Heres the problem- I can't boot up, even in safe mode. I don't have windows 2000 installation disk and I don't have boot up disk. I downloaded ultimate boot CD and can get it running but don't know what to do.
Is there anything I can do? Anywhere I can downolad a instalation disk or a boot up disk?
If I wanted to wipe the hard drive and start again, is that even possible without either of the above disks?

If I were in your situation, I'd look towards a more modern OS unless you have applications that have to run on 2000. If your looking for a free solution Linux has many good operating systems that are dirt simple to install. Only concern would be what you have for hardware and do you need to play games that would be tricky to make run under Linux?. If you have a Pentium III or newer CPU and 512MB of Ram or more, you can go the route of many modern Linux distros like Ubuntu Desktop.
If you want to stick with Windows OS and you have your Key on your system, and you have a friend with a Windows 2000 Professional CD, you can try performing a repair installation with their disk or a clean installation if you want to start from scratch clean, using your key to register the software.
If you dont have access to a Windows 2000 Professional CD then, I would look to ebay for a non-pirated version of 2000 or XP or buy a new copy of XP Home for about $89 -$109 at a retail outlet. If your system is a Pentium III or better CPU and at least 256MB Ram, I'd rather buy a copy of XP Home or XP Pro instead of Windows 2000 which has limited functionality these days with many pieces of software no longer supporting 2000 with the minimum OS now being XP. I am guessing your hardware is old given you are running Win 2000, otherwise I would suggest Windows 7 Home Premium, but for Win 7 Home Premium, you should really have a Dual-Core CPU and at least 1GB Ram, although 2GB is way better. Or a modern faster single-core CPU like the AMD Sempron 2.7 Ghz and 2GB Ram.
