Title: Errors/Warnings while trying to back up my computer.
Post by: sissy on April 11, 2012, 11:39:01 PM
While trying to back up my computer the process stopped before it was finished. I got a whole list of warnings:

Unable to open "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD DX\Customizations\Dell\Media\Dark-Blue\CaptionBar\btn_help_s.png" - skipped.
Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.

Unable to open "C:\_SharedHardlinkData_\50981864.20000.7c52" - skipped.
Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.

Error: Could not access portions of directory System State\COM+ Class Registration Database.
You may not have permission to open the file, or the directory may be missing or damaged.
Please contact the owner or administrator.

Error: Could not access portions of directory System State\Registry.

Does anyone know how to correct this in beginners terms, lol... Any help will be appreciated... Thanks!

Perhaps there are errors in the file system. Run a check on the drive.

Open up My Computer, select the C: drive and right click and go down to proprieties. Next select the tools tab. Check the disk. Note: you will be told to restart the computer.

The error messages you got indicate file system errors which can be fixed with check disk.

Thank you! I did that so now I'll try and do another backup and see what happens. :)
