Windows Vista wants me to open in Safe Mode. Crashes on me. Can't update security. Help?

What crashes, the Operating System or Safe Mode?  What security are you trying to update?  The people here thrive on details!  ;)

Ok, going from the error code (that for some reason, you've put in the title !?!), you are attempting to install Microsoft Security Essentials in Safe Mode and it the PC gives an error. Is this correct ??

First, MSE cannot be installed in Safe Mode.

Can you start the PC normally?

As before, what is crashing??
