This is a recommendation for a Beginner's Computer Programming.
Small Basic.
Specifically, the version now offered by Microsoft. It is so much easier to learn than Visual Studio and its various flavors. It is simple, clean and follows modern ideas about object programming.
It is a very good starting point for anyone wanting to know more about how computers work. An it can do some rather cool things with a little effort.
Here is the place to start:

This section doesn't get a lot of exposure then does it.
Thanks though to Geek-9pm for the post.
I have always been curious as to how I might find out about programming.
I would really love to be able to set up a program for my own game that I have been thinking of for many years. Maybe this will be the start of it. Maybe I can clone my own version of Space Invaders? hahahaha.
An interesting fact I found out some time ago, is that when starting a career in I.T., what ever the pupil learned in the first year of study, had been outdated by the third year. ??? :o
So never too late to have a go.
Thanks Geek-9pm. :D

You are welcome.
Only a small group of people take interest in Small Basic. But that can be siad for a lot of tings. Apparently there are thousands of Small Basic users out there .
A Bing search on 'small basic games' gets a lot of hits.
Also, some videos:

It would have to be a really badly designed course for that to be so, and a particularly stupid student.
