Alright, my computer has being experiencing the same problem for about a year now, and just like a recurring disease, it gets better and worse randomly.
Basically, I get pop-ups every 30 seconds from IE even though I use FireFox. I have a pop-up blocker but it doesn't block those pop-ups. Also, my computer will go VERY slowly, programs will take SO long to load and the computer will just be over all slow. Also, I get these messages that say "server busy" please try again. I can't ever get rid of these messages, the only way they go away is if I click them about 10 times then they turn into pop-ups.
I've scanned my computer for viruses and spyware and adware and it won't get fixed.
HELP!?

I'll go for the simplest option:
Scan it for viruses and spywares.

What AV are you using and is it current and upto date ?

Ad-Aware SE Personal
What operating system are you using ?

AND all these issues have been going on for a year ?
Most of them, yes
Are you using dialup or hispeed ?

I have used AVG, but it never solves any of my problems.
I just downloaded a firewall today but it hasn't solved the problem.

If the problems have been going on for over a year and nothing works, how about a nice reformat? Have you ever reloaded your operating system? Do you have anything to lose?
-
Now tell us the true story of your pc......
-
Because I don't really know how to reformat and I have SO much stuff on the computer. I thought there was a solution to the problem. I guess not if no one has figured it out.
-
Unless those are illegal warez, just backup to CD or another hard drive and reinstall if that is a legal copy. You should have a backup strategy in place if your data is important anyway.

Both are preventive measures, neither will "solve problems".

You don't seem to understand. You explain the problem and we help you to figure it out. If you refuse to answer all the questions asked of you, no more help for you.
-
I thought there was a solution to the problem.
Oh there is always a solution to the problem, usually more than one solution.
In this case you have two options:
1. format - quick solution, fresh start...
or
2. spend hours and hours plowing through the inner reaches of your hard drive, and the dark recesses of the dreaded <whisper> registry </whisper> to remove all the spyware/scumware and trojans/viruses cluttering up yer system. You'll learn a lot, you just need a lot of time and patience.
Will it be door number 1 or door number 2?

Several problems..... For some reason you are choosing not to answer the questions you are being asked ........
So my final reply to you is ........ " You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"
dl65 ::)
-
I heard that you could lead a horse to drink but you couldn't make him water. Perhaps I misunderstood that lesson in Equine Philosophy 101?

That differs from what I recall too. Something about... if I drink too much I'll have to water my horse. ;)

Army, huh? I thought that version was "march the horse to water and beat it till it drinks."
-
Can you grab a screen shot of an offending popup & show us?
-
Try using XP-AntiSpy and click on Remove Microsoft Messenger completely.
Then add this...
In IE, Tools, IE Options, Advanced, & under "Navigation" Uncheck:
"Activate install on demand" [Other] , and, "Activate install on demand" [Internet Explorer]

Wrong Army.
If it doesn't drink eat it.
-
Actually, I just downloaded a new firewall and so far everything is working pretty well.
No strange pop-ups, no ads, no spyware, no slowness, etc.
If I do get them again I'll take a screenshot.

Exit stage left...........meanwhile back at the questions that make sence<
-
How did it not make sense?
Your lack of uderstanding should not be mistaken for the question not making sense.
