Title: BSoD and STOP Error Message
Post by: 4buchkowrights on July 13, 2013, 11:32:45 AM
We have Windows Vista Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

We are seeing BSoD and STOP Error Message 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x2039304D, 0x805996BC, 0x805993B8)

Above the error message numbers at the bottom of the screen was a note about BIOS updates.  We turned the thing off, on again, and then hit F12.  Up popped a short menu of options:  Internal HDD, CD/DVD/DC-RW Drive, Onboard NIC, BIOS Setup, Diagnostics.

Where do we go from here?  And thanks so much for your help.

internal hd. Then Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

Hi Allan,

Thanks for your so quick response.  I understood very little.  I think you are maybe speaking another language, and request a translation please.

Also, I cannot do a screen shot as I am typing to you on another computer.

Thanks,
Jill

Choose internal hd. Then, assuming the system boots successfully, follow the rest of the instructions.

Thanks.  No joy.  Any suggestions what to do next?

Life intervened.

We followed your suggestion, but the computer did not boot.

On another try, my husband chose the diagnostics from the menu and it came up Error Code 2000-0123 Memory Integrity Test.

To check the ram, download memtest (http://memtest.org/). Burn it to a cd using a dedicated .iso burning utility (http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm), make sure the cd drive is at the top of the boot order in bios, then boot to the newly created cd and run the utility.
