Title: Chrome media player

Hi

I got a present of Acer C7 Chromebook (Im totally clueless). My old laptop used Windows & I usually played movie torrents using VLC. I've no problem downloading torrents on the new Chromebook with uTorrent but I cant seem to find a media player that plays all different files. Every time I download a media player a message pops up saying "This file type is not supported. Please visit the Chrome Web Store to find an app that can open this type of file". I also tried downloading VLC plug ins but the same message above keeps coming up

Any ideas??
