Hi guys. I desperately need help
When I went to turn on my Packard bell laptop (HP windows 7) it wouldn’t accept the password I was giving, even though I knew it was correct. It was saying ‘The user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded’. After trying numerous times, I got in through safe mode. I looked up a youtube tutorial and followed steps like going in to registry editor as far as changing the .BAK etc. , When I restarted my laptop it was like when I bought it new. All my folders, files, pictures etc. are all missing and Recuva can't find anything. Please someone help. All my college documents are gone. What can I do?

It sounds to me like the NTUSER.DAT registry file was corrupted. If you restore a backup of the registry, it will revert a lot of your settings to their defaults, but it should not delete any documents. The only case that your documents are also gone, is that part of hard drive was corrupted, which I don't think is the case. You'll probably find those documents if you search heavily through your C:\users folder.
