I have just bought a refurbished Windows 7 Pro Lenovo ThinkPad T420 laptop that comes with some Norton software installed. I would like to FULLY remove this so that I can add Malware Antimalware Free and a different anti-virus solution without any installation hiccups or conflicts.
Is the Norton Removal Tool that Symantec themselves provide at
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us?entsrc=redirect_pubweb&pvid=f-home
all I need to do this correctly ?
Should I use the Windows uninstaller first or ONLY this tool ?
The Factory defaults for the computer also mean that Windows Live Messenger is installed. Is it important to remove or disable this ?
