Title: Opinions on a New Build?

Woof! This is my first time thinking of building my own desktop, although I've been around computers my whole life so it shouldn't be that bad, right? d:

So, I'm looking to build a desktop computer for college.

I'm trying to build a desktop that will last for a majority, if not all of my time at college. I'll be using my new build for audio editing (REAPER, FL Studio, etc.), graphic editing (Inkscape, Paint.NET, GIMP), low-end games (LoL, Sauerbraten, AssaultCube), and basic usage (web browsing, checking email, watching videos, etc.). I might be doing some video editing in the future, but I am currently doubtful of it. Windows will be my operating system of choice (7 or 8.1, I have yet to decide), but I might be using Linux in the future.

Notes:
+ A lot of the parts choices in my build were influenced by this build (http://pcpartpicker.com/b/24rH99).
+ If I'm missing any key component, please let me know.
+ The OS won't be included in the cost of the final product.
+ Feel free to suggest an SSD if it can fit within my budget.
+ The keyboard, mouse, and speakers are just benchmarks. I'll figure out which peripherals I'll buy on my own.
+ All suggestions are welcome.

My budget maxes out at $800 (to fund a complementary Chromebook purchase), but lower-priced spec suggestions are welcome provided my planned build is overkill for what I intend to do with it.

I also recommend to step up and get at least and i5 and if your aren't an Intel Fanboy, get an high end AMD Chip, but that would probably cause you to change your motherboard and etc.
