I have just bought a new computer, it is using 8.1 and is 64-bit. intel(r) core(tm) 4460 [email protected]. 8gb ram. I have office professional plus 2007 which is ok for my needs will it fully install  and run on my system

I am sure it will. the following versions of Office are supported on Windows 8 (and on Windows Server 2012, too):   Office 2013    Office 2010    Office 2007. Your PC spec is plenty for an office app.

Yes, it will work fine in Win 8.1.  I installed Office Pro 2007 on the Windows 10 Preview released by MS yesterday so I know it works there too.

I can also confirm it Office 2007 will run fine with Windows 8.1.  I have it installed on my Win 8.1 laptop.
