Post by: High1 on October 10, 2015, 10:06:54 PM
Hello

I get the following error - it flashes on my screen every 10 mins - GREG error - This operating system is not supported by this application- after installing Windows 10.

There is nothing in my Control Panel | Programs uninstall of the name GREG there.

How can I remove it, please?

Thanks!

This is not a new problem. It has been documented.
It also comes in Windows 8.

The remedy is rather detailed and may be specific to a certain brand of computer. Read over the link and see if it applies to you.

Summary: apparently the problem is on Acer machines. It happens with Windows 8 as well. The problem application is Acer Global Registration. Go to Programs and Features in Control Panel and uninstall it (GREGsvc.exe and Greg.exe)

Hello

Thanks for your replies.

I think I may have resolved it on my Packard Bell PC.

As I say, there is nothing about GREG in my Control Panel, but I removed the Packard Bell Registration entry there, and I haven't seen the GREG pop-up since.

Cheers
