Title: Windows 7 starting up very slowly on laptop
Post by: Windows7User on December 30, 2015, 02:02:46 PM
I have a four year old Acer laptop with Windows 7 loaded onto it.

Until now, it worked perfectly. But now, when I power it up it sits on a black screen for 10 - 40 minutes before booting into windows. Once I'm in Windows, everything is as fast as it's always been.

I've tried disk defragging and disk cleanup, as well as using CCleaner, as these were things I've seen recommended for similar problems. However, these changed nothing.

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this?

Any insight is appreciated.
