Do you have any any way to get into the Internet?
Does the same computer have a working Wireless adapter?
What router ,modem or wireless are y our sussing? Do other devices or computer work good with the modem/router wireless?

It's a desktop computer, custom built. Do you require the specifications?
So you do not get any internet on this computer?
Do you have any any way to get into the Internet?
Does the same computer have a working Wireless adapter?
Not through LAN/ethernet cable, using a USB wireless adapter works, though. Still I'd want to use the ethernet cable.
What router ,modem or wireless are y our sussing?
Router: D-Link L7-N-R2000
Modem: VDSL2-HUAWEI-HG655m
Both provided by the ISP I'm subscribed to.
Do other devices or computer work good with the modem/router wireless?
Yes, laptops and phones work fine with the wireless.

My gut feeling is that it is not Windows 10. But I can be wrong.
OK. Replacing the Network Interface Card (NIC) is not an option. - Right?
You can get Ethernet to USB adapter for a very low price and it will work up to the full speed of Ethernet.
I see Walmart offers such a thing.

Prices are from $12 to $30 for generic brands. These claim to be full speed devices and get power from the USB port.

Actually it is, but I wouldn't want to do that if at all possible, only for as a last resort.

Erm, I could, but will that really help, if so, how? Sorry, I'm skeptical due to past events.

I am not trying to sell you something you don't need.
The USB to Ethernet adapter is a cheap way to have on hand a diagnostic tool.
It is independent of some of the things that can go sarong.
Somethings it can do:
• It can verify simple mechanical failure of the jack.
• It can workaround driver issues of the NIC
• It can confirm the integrity of the Ethernet cable.
• It can be used with other PCs to confirm the router is good.
Hop that is of some help.

I could try that, but getting that will take some time (personal inconvenience on my side) -- for now, what do you think about this:

That screenshot shows a Ethernet adapter one and USB adapter off.
So, do you have Internet now?
What happens when you activate the USB adapter?
Do you now have DNS working?

When I activate the USB adapter and turn off the Ethernet, internet functions as normal.
When I turn on just the Ethernet, issue is as this thread.
When both are turned on, internet does not work.
Do you now have DNS working?
I'm not sure, how can I know?

Try doing a ping by IP number
and then
ping by name. The DNS as to resolve the name,
Example for Yahoo.com
C:\>ping 98.138.253.109
Pinging 98.138.253.109 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 98.138.253.109: bytes=32 time=64ms TTL=50
Reply from 98.138.253.109: bytes=32 time=56ms TTL=50
Reply from 98.138.253.109: bytes=32 time=59ms TTL=50
...
C:\>ping yahoo.com
Pinging yahoo.com [98.138.253.109] with 32 bytes of data
Request timed out.
Reply from 98.138.253.109: bytes=32 time=62ms TTL=50
Reply from 98.138.253.109: bytes=32 time=63ms TTL=50

I found the root cause, and it's very silly!
What happened was that the LAN/Ethernet cable was connected to the modem, not the router.
When called the ISP customer service:
1st Representative (8th June): Asked to connect the phone line to the TEL1 port, disregarding the DSL port
2nd Representative (8th June): Asked to connect the LAN/Ethernet cable from modem to computer*
3rd Representative (today, 10th June): Said connecting to modem is incorrect, should be connected to the router -> connect to router -> issue resolved
*Point after when I started this thread
Thanks for the help and for being patient Geek-9pm, this thread can be closed.

OK.
It goes to show that one out of three service repress can be correct.
That is amazing good news! :o
