Title: Windows 10 Issue - Can no longer open folders using left mouse button
Post by: linx4 on July 08, 2016, 08:24:39 AM
Hi, For what seems like for ever, in various Windows OS, I have always used a double click on a folder using the left hand mouse button. However, for some reason, this action is no longer working. To open a folder I have to right click on it and manually select 'open' from the drop down menu. This does not apply to desk top icons----they still respond to left clicking. In addition I now find that I am unable to create a 'New Folder' except when I am inside another folder. For example if I wanted to create a folder titled '2 reasons to like Windows 10', I would not be able to do so unless I opened any other folder created the new one and then did a 'cut & paste' on the new one. Now I know that what I have here are 2 separate issues, but they both appeared at round about the same time, following a Win 10 update. Has anyone else had these or similar problems of late? I would appear to me that some settings have been changed, but where to go to fix them and how to do it is past my knowledge base.
For information I do get an error message when I try to open a file with a left click...please see attached. It is to do with file associations, but again where di I look to sort it.

Regards
