Title: computer can't access secure websites
Post by: yahoo on November 29, 2005, 07:40:28 PM
It's been a week now that I was unable to access any secure websites(banks, credit cards).

I don't know what's wrong.

Please help...

As soon as you let us know...

1. Make of PC?
2. Operating System?
3. What was the last thing being done before the loss of access?
4. What anti virus you have?
5. What you have tried yourself already?

A little knowledge goes a long way.

1. DELL
2. windows XP
3. 2 days after my antivirus program expired, I can no longer access secure websites. I can enter my username & password, BUT, after hitting the login button, the "the page cannot be displayed" page will open up.
4. Norton
5. I tried using a different browser(firefox), i was able to download the browser, BUT, when i tried to go to a website like www. wachovia.com, & hit the GO button, a message will appear that says "connection to firefox is not allowed". I also tried to uninstall the antivirus program, but even that was unsuccessful. There is no CHANGE/REMOVE button in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM section of control panel.

Hope that's helpful. Thanks

Norton can be a pain to uninstall. Go to web site for tools (www.symantec.com)

What are your internet security settings? (Under Tools/Options)
