Title: spyware help
Post by: AlwaysTrying on October 14, 2016, 02:47:32 AM
Hi,

Please could you help me, I recently had my bank card details stolen and they emptied my account (that now sorted with the bank) the only way they could of obtained my details is through computer as I don't use that card anywhere else.

I've got nothing in my internet history or temporary files that shows anything suspect or matches dates of there online transactions (speedwaves) Oxford taking most money and still trying whilst card being cancelled, along with a failed ocardo shop!

I've tried the computer hope tool with hijack, it said I don't have firewall but my computer saying its switched on.  I have adware previous logs have shown its removed searchscopes.  (Also seem to have two versions of adware)

Have CCleaner and malwarebytes but haven't a clue what I'm doing so don't want to just delete everything.

The only thing I can see is a hidden folder HP with files UIni.exe and HPQWare  and I'm coming up with conflicting advise as to if this is safe or unsafe.

I've also checked breachalarm last night one of my email address was compromised June 11th 2016, I used to use that for everything except for one bank account they stole from but over past months have been changing over to email with easier access for me.  I always check devices and get alerts for attempts on my email addresses nothing shown accept for few failed attempts from Taiwan.

Sorry for the long post.

And appreciate any advice and help.  Thanks

Hello and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Dave. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer.

1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
3. If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to ask.
4. Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans while I am helping you.
5. It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
6. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

If you can't access the internet with your infected computer you will have to download and transfer any programs to the computer you're using now and transfer them to the infected computer with a CD-RW or a USB storage device. I prefer a CD because a storage device can get infected. If you use a storage device hold the shift key down while inserting the USB storage device for about 10 secs. You will also have to transfer the logs you receive back to the good computer using the same method until we can get the computer back on-line.

The Security log shows you have two AV's on your computer; MSE and AVG. Only one AV should be active on your computer. Make sure one is disabled.
Please run AdwCleaner again and hit the delete button.

Update Your Java (JRE)

Old versions of Java have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.

First Verify your Java Version (http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp)

If there are any other version(s) installed then update now.

Get the new version (if needed)

If your version is out of date install the newest version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html).

Note: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

Be sure to close ALL open web browsers before starting the installation.

Remove any old versions

1. Download JavaRa (http://raproducts.org/click/click.php?id=1) and unzip the file to your Desktop.
2. Open JavaRA.exe and choose Remove Older Versions
3. Once complete exit JavaRA.

Additional Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/otherFeatures/jqs.html) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and reboot your computer.

I'd like to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan

•Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.

Sorry for delay in replying.

I disabled AVG.

I clicked on adware that I downloaded but it said it needed updating and automatically went and opened internet explorer and starting downloading. Task Manager had trouble closing program.  So downloaded from bleeping again.  This is log after reboot.   I have not followed the other steps as I notice in this log report that it has hxxps

Ok I uninstalled AVG as I could only disable it until reboot.

Verified Java Version from your link, now updated would only complete update once it removed older versions.

Your JavaRA link takes me to http://raproducts.org/click/click.php?id=1   - Nothing found

Esetsmartinstaller I get error 404 and the clicky link doesn't work for other browser users.
Used bleeping website to get download.

Hi Dave,

It runs a lot faster since deleted others users before I completed last steps advised.

Only issue was that Windows Update seems to always checking for updates but no progress further.

Downloaded BeLarc Advisor mainly to check missing updates (I have security benchmark 0.63 of 10)  :o
Tried downloading updates from Belarc report - no joy, then from microsoft update catalog it adds to basket then says its downloaded its still showing as missing file even after reboot (I put download in %windir%\softwaredistribution\download filepath).

Used Computer Hope Process tool last night -
Log says I've got no firewall or antivirus!!  I've got OCD recently that I'm checking every few hrs thats is on.  Windows firewall and Antivirus is ON ON ON.

Log also tells me I have 13 potential threats

Think I'm destined to go back to my life 20 years ago and use good old fashion mail where stamps needed licking and you had to stand in long queues to buy goods with mostly just cash

Did you try running the Action Center?

Yes tried lots of times from Action Centre.

Left it on all night and it was still checking in morning.

It also says Most recent updates     : Never
                  Updates were installed : Never

I have checked installed history and I have had updates in past.

You should try contacting MS.
