I bought an internal SATA drive to connect external to clone my new computer. After cloning the the new computer to this drive it only shows 225GB total space on the drive. Is there anyway to correct this where I see 1TB on the drive

Hi was the drive you cloned 225gb? . If so you seem to have made a direct copy of the drive so the new size of the 1tb is 225gb.
You will need to delete the 225gb partition and re make a new partition of 1tb and format it you can use Disk Mangement to do this. To use the whole 1tb it would be better to use backup software like "todo backup"

Alternatively you can use software such as GParted (http://gparted.org/livecd.php (http://gparted.org/livecd.php)) to expand the partition to fill the remaining space on the disk.

The drive I backed up is 225 GB

Thanks disk management worked.

What tool was used to clone the drive?
What hardware was used?
(Some old hardware things don't work right.)

Geek...it was solved...
With most cloning apps the new drive assumes the old drives size,,,the rest is left unallocated...
It;s normal.
