Title: HP Pavilion g6 Power Adapter

I had a drink spilt on the power adapter where the power plug connects into the laptop.  I need to get a replacement since, I use the laptop fairly regular and can't seem to find any that are HP

Does it have to be HP specifically?

If the output of the adapter isn't right it can over load the laptop

Visit amazon.com and do a search for your specific model laptop.  For example, I have an HP g6-2210us.  If I search on laptop power adapter g6-2210us, I see power adapters for my laptop, such as this one (https://www.amazon.com/G6-2209SL-G6-2209SS-G6-2210SA-G6-2210SS-G6-2210US-Adapter/dp/B00C9BRB32/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1477320983&sr=1-3&keywords=laptop+power+adapter+g6-2210us). 

To get the exact model of your laptop, you may need to remove the battery and look there.  If you laptop is like mine, it only says Pavilion g6 on front, but that is not the full model #.

Edit: I think you need to consider whether you might have damaged the laptop, not just the power adapter.  In that case, replacing the power adapter alone will not solve your problem.

I some how managed to get the one that is issued with the units as a replacement.  So far no issues other then the battery needs replaced and it having a heating issue.
