Post by: Spicy Chicken on October 28, 2016, 09:41:52 PM
Hello, I have a MacBook, it has an Intel Processor Dual Core and Mac OS X 10.5.8, I have a questions
I was going to edit a video in iMovie, and as soon as I selected the video to use, it showed this error:
This file could not be copied:

/Users/spicychicken/Desktop/Movie 1.mov

( Error code: -1429 )

Anyone know anything about this?  ???
Please help, I was going to post it on YouTube, and I want to ASAP

The file is too big.

Same error here. What should we do if the file is too big? Is there a way to compress it and still get it to work properly?

Essentially, yes, compress it. Wikihow has a pretty good guide on it: http://www.wikihow.com/Compress-Video (http://www.wikihow.com/Compress-Video)

 sorry I didn't give a better answer.
Sorry I didn't give a better answer.
You did not say what file type, or apparently I didn't see that. A common file type use for editing movies is the AVI file type. If your video is that type, then you can find utilities that will cut that type of file into smaller pieces. This is often needed for doing anything to very large files.
Here is one website that explains this in some more detail.

I hope that is of some help. :)
