Title: Write-protected disk
Post by: bellow on November 20, 2016, 10:40:45 PM
I have two different sd card, One is a normal SD card, the other is a mirco sd card in an adapter, I am wanting to copy my documents and stuff to them before I transfer them over to a new user on the computer (user account they are on is corrupt). So I put in the first sd card and get the Disk is write-protected error. So I take it out and check not locked. Reconnect copy file same error. grab the other sd card go though the steps and same error. So I took the mirco sd card and put it in a tablet I have hooked the tablet to the computer went to copy the same file and it copies it just fine. Is there a reason that the mirco sd card is "write-protected" when in the adapter and not in the tablet? Also is there a way to fix this so I can copy stuff to sd cards in the future. Windows 10 machine

Is this computer your trying to copy data off of one that ( is or was a work computer ) to where there might be something enabled to protect from data being copied/stollen off of it?

No and I can copy the data when using a mirco sd card in a tablet. Just not when the SD card is in the adapter

Sounds like it's the adapter...

Only one of the sd cards had an adaptor to it

Why not drag and drop the files from one user to the other?

Or Copy and paste no need to use the SD cards if both users are on the same system.

Because I might have to reformat the computer due to another issue and was wanting to make sure I had copies of everything in case that happens
