Microsoft reveals ARM version of Windows 10 that runs x86 software through emulation

The announcement was made during Intel Developers Conference in Shenzhen where Microsoft today will demonstrate an x86 version of Adobe’s Photoshop running on an ARM CPU powered device. Running Windows 10 on ARM CPUs should make very energy efficient ARM powered laptops possible that can run longer on a single charge than currently possible with x86 based laptops
The basic story had already been announced earlier, but this new info gave the specific details. To wit, the Windows 10 runs on a new and upcoming Qualcomm SnapDragon chip.

So, this is of no help to users who already have current ARM chips. :'(

Only QualComm chips will be able to do those features as of now...
However i predict once users get to see the convienence other chip makers will line up at Ms's door...

It is about a server chip that will also eat into Intel profits.
The mobile chip designer, based in San Diego, California, has recruited engineers from AMD, Intel and Broadcom, as well as tapped its internal pool of techies, to work on the processor family. Qualcomm believes that by going straight to 10nm, it will motor ahead of Intel, which is right now shipping 14nm server CPUs.
So, this should soon be good news for consumers. More competition, more choices.
