Title: unmountable boot volume

whenever i start my computer it takes me to the advanced startup screen. no matter whati choose it always takes me to the same screen and gives me an error message thay says my pc has unmountable boot volume. what does thet mean and how do i fix it?

 bingo...... Well without knowing which operating system you have ...it's only a guess ,but I would think that its possible the boot.ini file is messed up .
Get back with the O/S and we can possibly offer a fix for you .

Do you have the XP disc?

Try using recovery console and the following switches:

chkdsk /r - let that run through and then use:

fixboot - and choose Y for yes.

reboot and see if that helps.
