Title: 4 IPV6 addresses?
Post by: fooploop7 on December 13, 2016, 03:17:11 PM
Hello hope someone can answer my question and I thank you in advance. I'm on windows 7 64bit and when I check my ipconfig I notice I have 4 different IPv6 addresses. Two of the addresses just say IPv6 while another shows temporary IPv6 address and the other shows link local IPv6 address. I'm just curious if this is normal or not. I also notice it on my iPhone which shows 3 ipv6 addresses along with one fe address. I use Comcast by the way. I also have a phone line if that makes a difference.

Here is my computer as a reference for a single network adapter. There are 3 IPv6 entries but they are different. 2 are DHCP and other is local IP. If you copy paste your info here like I did we can see what you have going on vs guesswork. Additionally each  Network Adapter that is active could show IPv6 and IPv4 info. Usually its only the ones that are connected to a network or set up static. Dynamic configured NICs with no network connection usually show no info since no DHCP lease was established.
