Title: Inability to open Microsoft Excel program
Post by: Jimigrant on February 14, 2017, 04:39:22 PM
Hello All .........
Firstly, thanks for noticing this New Thread (my first).
Secondly, I find that I'm prohibited from/unable to open any new or saved Excel files.
I double click. There is a hint of a flash of the opening Excel logo/page which disappears and I receive a pop-up, informing me that,

"There was a problem sending the command to the program"

I've found that after pinning Excel to the Task Bar, opening it from there, choosing 'File' > 'Recent', I can choose a recently(?) used folder, then an Excel file and it will open just fine.
But it's a royal pain in the coit.
I would be grateful for any light that anyone can shed on this problem.
Jim

That support page looks pretty comprehensive, but for what it's worth, this happened to me once and reinstalling a fresh copy of MS Office worked like a charm!
